my first sale. I cried. — Corinne
If any of this sounds familiar

It's 11pm on a Sunday. You're in Canva again, working on the third workbook this month that probably won't sell either.

You spent three weeks on a worksheet you were sure would be the one. Twelve people viewed it. Two bought it. $19, minus the fees.

You started a doc with 47 product ideas. You opened it on a Thursday night, stared at it for forty-five minutes — and closed it.

You bought a $97 course from someone who swore they made $40K a month on printables. You finished module 2. You never opened module 3.

You're not lazy. You're not missing some secret skill.

You're building a product business the hardest way there is — making every single thing yourself, alone, in the hours left over after everything else.

I know, because that was me. — Corinne

How BloomVault started · Corinne Hudson, founder

I built this for the woman I was three years ago.

My husband left in March 2022. I won't go into why. The part that matters: he took our savings, left €17,400 of joint debt, and disappeared for six months.

Manchester · 2022

£1,840 a month. £1,200 of it was rent.

I had a part-time HR job. My son Leo was three. I couldn't afford full-time daycare, so I worked while he napped, after he fell asleep, and on weekends when my mother took him.

That first year I tried everything that's supposed to work
  • FIVERRVA work for clients in three time zones who wanted answers at midnight. I burned out in eight weeks.
  • VINTEDMaybe £80 a month — mostly from selling things I actually needed.
  • THE PUBEvening shifts, four nights a week. It destroyed me.

I was sleeping four hours a night. I lost twelve pounds I didn't have to lose.

A Tuesday in January 2023

I cried in the bathroom, because Leo had asked me why I was always tired.

Three weeks later

A woman in a single-mothers' Facebook group mentioned three letters: PLR. Private Label Rights — ready-made digital products you're licensed to rebrand and resell. I'd never heard of it.

I had £37 in my account. I held the cursor over "buy" for forty minutes. I closed the tab. At 1am I opened it again, and I bought.

The worksheet

The covers were ugly. The fonts were Comic Sans-adjacent. But it was real — there were files, and I could open them.

I picked the least ugly one, a Core Values worksheet, and spent six hours rebranding it in Canva. Wrong colours. A font that turned out to be paid. I redid it three times.

On April 14, 2023, I listed it.

April 14, 2023

Then I did what everyone does with their first listing.

I refreshed the page. Every fifteen minutes.

Refresh

Zero.
Zero.
Zero.

You know the feeling. The little voice that says see, it was never going to work.

9:47 pm

A woman named Brenda, in Ohio, bought it for $4.99.

After the fees, I kept $3.61.

I cried again.
A different kind.

$3.61 isn't money. It's proof. Proof that a stranger, somewhere, would pay for something with my name on it.

Your $3.61 moment starts with something worth selling.

1,247 products, already made, already licensed to you. Pick one tonight and list it this week.

How expensive "I'll just make it myself" really is

I timed every minute of my launches.
Here's the receipt.

Not in dollars. In time. Because when you're a single parent, or a one-person business, or both — time is the only currency that matters.

32 hours of work.
$86.88 in sales.

$2.71 an hour.

That's below the minimum wage in every country I've lived in. And that's the optimistic case — about one in three times, you get halfway through and realise it doesn't work.

One product a week, the way the gurus tell you, is 1,536 hours a year.

At a freelance designer's $50 an hour, that's $76,800 of your life every year — spent making things that mostly don't sell.

When I finally did the math, I cried. This is the cost of "I'll just make it myself."

The thing that broke my brain

Most digital sellers don't make most of what they sell.

The Etsy stores I studied — 4,000 reviews, impossibly polished — mostly weren't run by designers. They were licensing ready-made products, rebranding them, and selling them to audiences they understood.

Private Label Rights

It's been the open secret of online sellers for fifteen years. Coaches use it. Marketers use it. Even gurus who tell you to "create your own product."

Nobody talks about it, because there's no clout in admitting you didn't make the thing.

The product is already made.
You just put your name on it.

Your colours, your name, your voice. Every product in the vault ships with an editable Canva file — about five minutes to make it yours.

The part nobody tells you

Most PLR is garbage.

In my first six months I spent $2,847 on memberships and bundles. Outdated covers. Generic content. Templates that took longer to fix than to make from scratch. Sites that hadn't added a product in fourteen months, still charging $47 a month for "ongoing access."

So I started designing my own, built on trend research I'd been doing every Sunday since week six. My products outsold the rebranded ones three to one. Designer friends asked to buy my source files. By summer 2024, 89 women were paying me $15 for a private Notion folder of 300 products.

BloomVault is that folder, grown up — real designers, real writers, a real budget for trend research. The thing I wish someone had handed me on April 13, 2023. The day before my first sale.

I didn't get rich.
I got my time back.

I work about 25 hours a week. I make around $18,400 a month between my own stores and BloomVault.

I pick Leo up from school every day at 4. I cook actual dinners. I read books again.

I'm not a millionaire, and I'm not chasing a million. I value quiet money — the kind that comes in while you're at your son's school recital. The kind that doesn't ask you to be "on" every day. The kind that compounds.

Who BloomVault is for

We're not the manifestation crowd.

We're not the hustle crowd.

We'd rather make $4,000 a month working 15 hours a week than $20,000 working 70.

We do the unsexy thing — put our name on a proven product and sell it to people we understand — because we've done the sexy thing, and it cost us time we didn't have.

We are quiet people running good businesses. Welcome.

The one I tell people about when they ask if you can really leave a corporate job.

“Six months in I was at $5,100 a month. I left my corporate job in October. My husband still keeps asking when the side hustle is going to crash. It's been thirteen months.”

After 1000 founding sales the price moves to $47 — and it doesn't come back down. 713 seats left at $27.

An honest note about the price

Why $27 once, when others charge $27 every month?

We make money when you tell your friends. The low price isn't a discount, it's the business model. I'd rather have 5,000 resellers making real money and recommending us than 500 people who paid $297 and never logged in.

The founding rate is capped at 1,000 sales. Every product has a finite niche audience; if 50,000 people rebrand the same journal, we flood our own buyers' market. So we cap founding access, and we retire products that hit saturation. After 1,000, it's $47 — it's in writing in the buyer terms.

No subscription. No hidden upsell chain. $27 once, every future drop included. And a refund button in your dashboard if it doesn't work for you.

30 days. Your first sale. Or every cent back — and you keep the products.

Most PLR sites give you a 7-day refund window — barely enough time to log in. We don't.

Follow the First Sale Sprint in your dashboard — 7 days of guided actions to get one product listed and live. If you haven't made your first sale within 30 days, the refund button gives you back your $27 in full. You keep every product and every source file.

No friction. No “have you tried” emails. Two clicks.

Questions people ask me

The honest answers.

What exactly is PLR, and how does the license work?

PLR stands for Private Label Rights. With BloomVault you get a worldwide, non-exclusive commercial license to rebrand, modify and resell every product in the vault — for life. Sell as-is, modify, bundle, or use as lead magnets, on Etsy, Amazon KDP, Shopify, Gumroad, your own site, inside your courses or coaching. The only things you can't do: resell the unmodified source files as “PLR” themselves, or claim authorship of the underlying intellectual property. Full license terms are in your dashboard.

Is this just another AI-slop content farm?

No. We have 6 in-house designers and 3 writers. We use AI for trend research; the products themselves are designed and written by humans. We test every drop on Etsy and KDP before it enters the vault. If it doesn't sell in our test, it doesn't go in.

Am I too late? Hasn't PLR already peaked?

PLR has been around for fifteen years and the market is still growing. What has peaked is bad PLR — old libraries with 2021 covers. Good PLR with weekly trend tracking hasn't. That's literally what we built. “Am I too late” is the most common reason people don't start, and it's almost always wrong.

I'm starting from zero. No store, no audience. Is this for me?

Yes, with one caveat. The First Sale Sprint walks you through opening an Etsy or Gumroad store, listing your first product and getting it in front of traffic. None of it is hard, but it takes about 5 hours in your first week. If you can't carve out 5 hours, this won't work — for you or for anyone selling anything.

Will I get judged for selling things I didn't make?

Reselling licensed digital products is exactly as ethical as reselling licensed physical products — which is the entire retail industry. You're not lying about authorship; the license explicitly permits rebranded resale. Sell good products to people who need them, charge fairly, deliver well. That's the ethics.

What if my friends find out?

My honest answer: I told one friend, three months in, after I'd cleared the debt. She asked if I could teach her. She now makes more than I do. The people who judge you for reselling are usually uncomfortable that they haven't figured out their own income. The people who understand business will be quietly impressed.

Are other buyers selling the same products?

Yes — that's why we cap founding access and retire products that hit saturation. We monitor sales velocity in each niche weekly. To stand out: rebrand thoughtfully (your colours, your voice, your audience), pick a niche the catalogue serves well, and write your own descriptions. The Sprint covers all of it.

Is it really one payment? No hidden subscription?

$27 once. Lifetime access. No recurring charge, no auto-renewal. Every future drop is included. The only possible future charge is if we ever open a separate premium tier — entirely optional.

Will the price go up?

Yes. After 1,000 founding sales the price moves to $47, permanently. Founding buyers stay at $27, locked in writing.

Who's behind BloomVault?

Me — Corinne Hudson, founder. Operations from Lisbon; the design team is distributed across Lisbon, São Paulo and Kraków. The full team page is inside your dashboard.

One last thing

P.S. — If you're still reading, you're either deciding, or distracting yourself from the decision.

I know, because I did the same thing in February 2023. I had the £37 in my account. I held the cursor over “buy” for forty minutes. I closed the tab. I opened it again at 1am. I bought.

That £37 turned into £4,200 a month, six months later.

Your number will look different. Maybe it's $800 a month of side income. Maybe it's $4,000, replacement income. Maybe it's $11,000, like Olivia in Cape Town.

Or maybe it doesn't work for you, and you take the 30-day refund and keep the products as a $0 souvenir.

Either way: nothing about your life changes if you close this tab.

Something might change if you don't.

Corinne
